I'm not completely sure why but YouTube and other videos requiring flash no longer work in my browser. I had the most up to date Flash version so I tried an older Flash version and it played videos but they were very crackly and the quality was poor. Is there anyway I can use the latest version of Firefox with the latest version of the Flash plugin?

I'm using a PC with Windows Vista.

I used the Flashblock add-on but I have disabled it. I used Adblock add-on and I have disabled that too but to no avail.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Nope that didn't fix the problem, just gave me a new, crappy layout in my browser.

Try to disable protected mode in Flash, http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493

I disabled protected mode like you said and YouTube videos work now. Thank you very much.

Ok I spoke too soon. Some videos work and some don't.

For example this video doesn't load:
