I received a robocall through my wireless phone yesterday, saying that Verizon was offering me a rebate if I logged into vzw310.com.

Foolishly, I followed instructions, and found myself on a login page that looked like Verizon Wireless. The only odd thing about it was that it asked not just for username and password but also for account pin. I provided incorrect information at that point, and it took me to a standard Verizon Wireless sales page, with no mention of a rebate. Verizon Wireless Customer Care said that vzw310.com wasn't a verizon site. They logged my complaint but said their ticket form didn't allow them to request that the technicians get back in touch with me to tell me what they found.

Have you experienced this? I've never seen a phishing scam that actually invests in a robocall ahead of time.

If you have experienced this, do you know if the vzw3310.com downloads malware? I ran Norton antivirus total system scan, and it didn't find anything, but this is apparently new.

If you've seen this, please post here.

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
