How much history does Firefox stores?
I just realized that my Firefox January history was missing and it got replaced by Older than 6 months... I was using the History to search my older tabs that had gone missing.. I am confused now... Does the older than 6 months have my January History? Because it looks like some of them are missing.....

The contents of the January folder were moved to "Older than 6 months" on July 1 (or the first day in July that you first opened Firefox). Unfortunately all of the January history is now intermixed with the other "Older than ..." history; it's not separated into separate months anymore.

You could create a smart bookmarks folder and specify the begin time and end time in Unix epoch number (microseconds after 1 Jan 1970).
- place:beginTime=<microseconds>&endTime=<microseconds>&sort=4
An example with 1 Jan 2014 0:0:0 GMT until 31 Jan 23:59:59 GMT
- place:beginTime=1388534400000000&endTime=1391212799000000&sort=1&type=4
See:
- TimeStamp Converter: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/timestamp-converter/
- http://www.epochconverter.com/
You need to close and restart Firefox to make the place: smart folder bookmark work
Thanks for your help. I am a bit confused here. The more I surf websites on Mozilla, the older than 6 months history are going missing slowly. Like for example if I surf a website Let's say Mozilla support, so That's 1 website.. Then what will happen for me is the older than 6 months history, the oldest history below would dissapear.. Is this because Mozilla stores only certain amount of history or can i change this to make it store more?
Current Firefox versions do not have a time limit for the history. Firefox determines automatically how many pages can be kept without affecting the performance. You can see the current value via the read-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages on the about:config page.
See Marco Bonardo's blog about this:
Thanks for you reply. So does this mean eventually the history would get deleted overtime? Because some of them(Older than 6 months) are automatically deleted even though I did not surf my Mozilla Firefox on my computer. Does it store the older histories hidden somewhere? And you were talking about the smart bookmarks, wondering whether does this bookmarks all my current history on Mozilla? If it does than that would ease my workload right now... Would like to have my histories bookmarked. So whenever I need them I can just use it.
You can drag (or Copy/Paste) history items to a bookmarks folder if you want to keep them.
Thank you cor-el. I will do that on my free time.
