How can I delete a bookmark if the star isn't blue?

more options

There are several bookmarked sites on my bookmarked list on my ipad, but when I try to remove some of them, the star isn't blue. If I make it blue, it just adds the site again to my list. Then I can delete that site by clicking on the blue star, but the original site is still listed.

What list are you seeing it in? The home screen displays sites from your bookmarks and recent history. If you're seeing it there, the page is probably being displayed because it's in your browsing history.

If that's the case, try the instructions in the article Customize Firefox Home on iOS

My guess is that you have the site bookmarked on your desktop version, and the iOS version is just showing you your desktop bookmarks. Do you have the page bookmarked on your desktop version?

Thank you so, so much for answering me.

No, it is not on my bookmarks list on either of my two desktops (I have really looked good, but I have a lot of bookmarks). The site is Trulia, but the bookmark was for a certain house address that I bookmarked to go back and look at it. I looked at the toolbars and menus and there is nothing there from Trulia or any odd addresses. Oh well, that answers my question about some of the other sites that didn't have blue stars, but this one is a mystery.

So, there is no way to get rid of it if the star isn't blue, it must be deleted from desktops?

OK, just figured it out. If you're on the bookmark page (the page you come to when you tap the blue star) if you want to delete one of the entries, if you just swipe to the left with your thumb on that entry, a delete (little red box pops up)!! Who knew?

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. I didn't know how to Remove the top Sites from Home Screen, so thanks again for that.

Now I feel so smart.
