Okay, before you open/close Firefox again:
Your last session windows and tabs are stored in a file named sessionstore.js, not in the cache.
Using the Windows Start menu, search box or Run, type or paste the following and press Enter:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
If you see only one folder (semi-random name), click into it and back up all of these files to a safe location (if you see more than one such folder, check the files in them and back up the most recent):
sessionstore.js sessionstore.bak sessionstore.bak-datetime
If you find any numbered files such as the following, back those up too:
sessionstore-1.js
If you can't see .js extensions, turn off the feature of Windows that hides them. See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219
Can you find any files from the time that you want to restore?

Which Windows version are you running?
