Version 50 takes > twice as long to start as previous version
With or without a home page, Firefox 50 takes about 25 seconds to start up. This is versus about 10 seconds for many previous versions. I have not made any configuration changes since the upgrade or for many weeks prior. Same hardware, same O/S, either few or no other apps running.
Environment: Win 7 HP SP1, AMD A8-5500, 8GB RAM, physical memory used 28% with Firefox running.
I would appreciate knowing if other users see this performance issue or have suggestions to fix. I have not yet tried the generic actions for "slow Firefox" because older versions seemed considerably more snappy to startup.
Thank you.

Hi, you may have an add-on incompatibility issue, so try starting in Safe Mode, by holding down Shift when you start Firefox, and see if it's any faster: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
Firstly, thanks Scribe for your suggestion.
I feel a bit foolish, because since my OP, most of the times I've launched Firefox it has come up in 5-10 seconds. Maybe just once it took >20secs.
I will keep monitoring this, and use the Safe Mode suggestion if it recurs.
My apologies for apparently "crying wolf," yet I had seen the slow startup for several days before posting. Go figure.
For me it's the same speed than before. Almost instantly.
