Mozilla drains so much ram even with a few tabs open on windows 10
Hi dear developers and people who help other people in this forum, I'm Kristian, an old user of Mozilla and since I have installed mozilla of quantum project on my laptop with windows 10, I have notice on the task manager that mozilla drains a lot of ram even with a few tabs open ( Let's say 7). Well my concern is because with Google Chrome (I know that is offensive to compare) I have open more than 30 tabs and its ram consumption is understanble to be higher, nevertheless is really close to mozilla ( Lets say 1GB of RAM). I tried to run mozilla on safe mode with no addons but I get the same result. I tried reduce the content process limit to 2 (4 by default) but again, the RAM consumption still high. I reinstall mozilla, but unfortunately nothing changes. Im the only one with this trouble? Any ideas of what it can be? The mozilla version what Im using is 60 x64 and windows 10 x64 Thanks in advance ps: I attach an image to prove what I wrote

HI, I have several systems and each seems to run their own way with ram, and all differently. You can try setting the processes higher then back down until find the sweet spot.
Please Copy/Paste about:preferences#privacy to the Address Bar then Enter. Under Permissions please make sure there is a Check Mark in the Box to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
Note : Extensions take aprox give or take 20megs each and will be part of what you see running in the Task Manager as will the Sandbox (this level can be lowered from to help if need be).
Please let us know how that works. Thanks.
Hi Pkshadow, thank you for your answer and very sorry for my late reply. I did what you suggest but the ram consumption still high.My doubt points towards to why mozilla boasts that its browser offers ram consumption less than 30% compared to google chrome (extracted from mozilla' page: https://blog.mozilla.org/firefox/quantum-performance-test/) where clearly that is not applycable to my case. My laptop has 8gb RAM and a Intel Core i5 7th gen cpu. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi, Go the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 or higher, or lower again. Restart Firefox after making these changes please. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings
