Can't enter UK phone number to sync
I am trying to sync my Windows Firefox to my mobile phone Firefox. I have set up sync on the mobile. But I can't enter my mobile phone number on the Windows Firefox. I get "invalid phone number" whenever I enter my UK mobile number. I have tried it with the leading zero. I have tried it with +44 followed by the number without the zero. I have tried it with 044 followed by the number without the zero. I have tried it with 0044 followed by the number without the zero. I have run out of ideas. Can anyone help?

Edit: Oh, did I read that backwards? Sync is already set up on the mobile, and you need to connect your Windows Firefox to the same account? I don't think your mobile number should be required for that. I think you should be able to connect through the Options page, Firefox Account panel.
I think what gets sent to your mobile is just a link to Firefox in the relevant app store (Apple/iTunes AppStore or Google Play), so you could install the Firefox browser of your choice without the link by going to the app store and searching for it the usual way. Then set up Sync on the mobile app through the menu or maybe through the home page or new installation page if there is a message for it there.

Hello PeterMu,
Probably a rhetorical question, but just in case :
Have you tried the prefix 07 ?
You can't specify a country code as far as I know, Firefox only accepts a phone number in the currently reported country of your IP.

In the UK mobile phone numbers start with the prefix '07'

I think all UK mobile numbers start 07. Mine does.
Thanks jscher2000. Thought 2 is what I am trying to do. In options, Firefox account I have sync settings ticked. But bookmarks etc. Do not appear on my mobile.
Ah! They do now seem to be synced. Did I just not find them - silly me, or have they now appeared? Anyway, job done and thanks everyone for your kind attention and help.

Yes, all UK mobile phone numbers start with the prefix '07', hence my question : "Have you tried the prefix 07 ? ", as you don't mention it in your original post ....

Sync definitely is not instant, and it may be surprising that you need to look for mobile bookmarks under a different heading than the desktop bookmarks. But it sounds as though it is now working, so that's great.

Hello PeterMu,
I'm not really sure how to interpret that ...... (?) 'Sounds to me like you should contact your provider .....
My phone number starts 07. Sync does not accept this number. So I can't set up sync.

Do you get the same message as shown in this bug report :
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1468338 ?
That bug report has last been updated a year ago and hasn't been worked on since - if you want to, you could vote to show your interest for that bug report, and hopefully get the ball rolling again :

BTW : you marked this thread as solved - maybe you should remove the Chosen Solution mark ("Undo" button to the right).

What happened after you posted this ?
Hi, I'm one of the developers working on Firefox Sync. It sounds like you got everything working here but I just wanted to comment to clarify couple of points:
- If you've already set up Sync on the mobile, you don't need to enter your mobile number on the Desktop Firefox. As noted above, the only thing this form does is send an SMS to you mobile with a link to download Firefox. I can understand why it might appear as though you need to enter the mobile number, and will mention this to our UX folks.
- When entering your mobile number in order to send that SMS, we currently enforce that you're entering a mobile number for the region in which your IP addresses appears to reside. This is mostly for technical reasons, and a good place to follow up on this issue if needed is in the following bug:
