Nightly 95 on Windows 11 - Minimize & Maximize Buttons Are Missing

I have recently clean installed Windows 11 on my computer. I have noticed with the current Nightly 95 install that the minimize & maximize buttons are completely gone, only the close button is there. Even when I click on the area where the 2 missing buttons are nothing happens. When I double click the same area, the area behaves the same way as the rest of the top bar, it either makes the current window become a smaller window or a full window.

I have also installed Firefox 93 and 94 Beta 6, they both behave as normal with the minimize and maximize buttons visible and usable, just like any other program or Firefox version ever on Windows. Also, before I clean installed Windows 11, I used Nightly 95 on Windows 10 within the last day or so and I don't recall ever having this behavior happen there either.

Is this behavior on Nightly 95 on Windows 11 intentional or an error? I know Firefox has and is going through a massive GUI update and other user facing changes with Proton, but wasn't sure if this had anything to do with the trouble I am experiencing. I also understand that Nightly may have a lot of changes and features that are unique to it. I honestly just wasn't sure about this issue.

Thank you in advance for any and all help!

If you have some time and lots of bandwidth, you could run a Mozregression to triangulate the patch that caused this change:

https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/

But perhaps test in a clean profile first just in case it's an old setting:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test.

Inside Nightly, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Nightly95, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.

Scroll down to Nightly95 and click its Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system to get a clean test.

Do your Windows buttons appear normally in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (Nightly95 will remain available for future testing; note that Firefox won't want to use it in older versions.)

ok 7apple7, it might be a windows 11 problem, it might be a problem with the nightly installer you are using, are you sure nigltly installer is not just for windows 10?

in theory this should work, here is the link https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-nightly

Note that this is a known issue in Nightly on Windows 11 and should be fixed in the next update.

I have performed the mozregression and through attempting to file a new bug, I have found that work is being done to correct the issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1735961

Thanks again for the help! :)

Edit: Hi cor-el. I didn't see your post till now, thank you as well!
