I shutdown Thunderbird overnight as usual. This morning I had trouble like I've never had before. Upon booting my desktop computer this morning, it failed to boot normally. I rebooted it and when ready, I opened my Thunderbird and Firefox programs.

My security cameras send several pictures when triggered which happens every night. I review them each morning to see if I need to access my video cameras. Normally, each of these emails will open with the pictures -- chosen. Not this morning. The emails show the attachment of the jpg files but none of them would open in Thunderbird or in my default photo program.

I receive emails from OZY several times a day. I did last night. But the content of their article was deleted.

I received an email last night from Discover Card. The content was deleted.

In fact ALL the emails received since about 11:00 p.m. and sunrise this morning experienced this strange result. All emails received this morning after say 7:00 a.m. were normal -- so far.

For ALL of the emails received last night, their content was deleted except for those with attached 3-5 jpg photos which would not open. Now 10 hours later, as I try to write all this up for HELP, ALL of these emails suffering from what happened, one attached jpg file shows up and Thunderbird shows the top 1/4 inch of the attached picture. Also when I try to open the attached jpg, it opens in Photos as a bunch of horizontal bars. Strangely, earlier this morning, this did NOT exists! AND now that I can see the top 1/4 inch of the jpg showing the attached jpg file in the email, I can see it is the top a jpg I pasted into an email THIS MORNING to a fellow classmate regarding our 60th Class Reunion -- this was done AFTER what happened last night.

All this proceeds a few instances which have occurred over the last week -- maybe longer. Every once in a while, one of my security camera's email showing the pictures it took when triggered, opened in Thunderbird as program code! Lots of program code! NO pictures, just code.

I have NO idea what is happening or how in the world this could be happening -- and apparently I have lost the content of all my overnight emails.

After I send this call for help or to report this strangeness, I think I'll open my laptop and see IF those overnight emails show anything different -- supposed to be the same. No, I did not delete those strange emails. And yes, I did close and reopen Thunderbird several times with NO changes. And yes, I did reboot my computer to see if that would change anything. It didn't.
