Some web pages jump elsewhere after loading
I recently upgraded to Firefox 12 after hanging on to 3.6 as long as possible. I've noticed that a few web pages will jump to a different location as soon as it finishes loading, sometimes after I've scrolled down from the top and am reading something (I have a slow connection). For example, www.computerworld.com jumps to the middle of the page after it finishes loading. This never happened in 3.6, nor does it happen in IE9. How do I fix this? It's very annoying!

Natural_Born_Nerd, are you using the hosts file in Windows to block some domains like ads/malwares? If yes, you are meeting surely this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=748803
It's a regression and it will be fixed in FF13.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Hi, cor-el,
I switched over to Safe Mode and tried loading computerworld.com. It did the same thing. I also checked my plug-ins to see if they are up to date (they are), temporarily disabled all of them, and tried again. Same thing. I suspect there's something in computerworld's home page code that's causing it.
Thank you.

Oxylatium,
I am indeed using the hosts file to block a few ad domains. Now that you mention it, the pages that have been jumping seem to be going places with ads that I've blocked. I temporarily removed the ad-blocking entries from my hosts file and tried computerworld.com again. This time it stayed at the top. Putting them back and trying again made it jump to the middle again.
That's exactly what's causing my problem! Thank you very much!
