Here is the problem: I want to clear messages off the server but when downloaded to Thunderbird, I want to keep them in Thunderbird even when they are cleared off the server. Then there are messages that I want to clear off the server and NOT be downloaded to Thunderbird. Is there some special setting so these accounts act independently, and I manually handle messages. With Eudora, I was able to clear messages from the server. Everything that was cleared before I downloaded would not be downloaded onto Thunderbird. When I wanted to download and save a message in Eudora it would disappear from my server (which is what I want). The two seem to work together...whatever I do in my online account over webmail is also done in my Thunderbird account. I do not want that. I want it to work the way Eudora did.
