Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

What kind of problems do you have that you need to reset the password?

Is the password that is stored in the Password Manager and that Firefox fills automatically not working?

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Thanks. I did the first option you suggested. The kind of problem is always on a mozilla.org site, like this one: support.mozilla.org, not on other sites. I am going to sign out then sign back in to see if it helps.
