Hello,

It's been a while since the release date of chromecast on browsers.. Today, year 2020, all the chromium based browsers add chromecast (Edge, brave, chrome, etc..). My favorite browser is firefox, and i am forced to use a chromium based browser to cast to my androidTV's. Sometimes i think to leave this browser and use a chromium based all the time.

I searched and installed chromecast extension to firefox and nothing works to me, and they are not user frindly as chromecast extension on chrome.

Can you tell me if you even think in add a chromecast extension in firefox by default?

Thanks,

Fabio BISPO

... but there are video players today, like VLC (free video player) or elmedia (mac) and other that give you the ability to chromecast, i wonder if mozilla cant integrate something like they do to cast (at least) videos?

Sorry, if those 'players' aren't open source and available for anyone to use, it will NEVER become built into Firefox. Closed source, proprietary, patented software is far beyond Mozilla principles.

I don't think so. This is closed source, prioprietary, patented software that belongs to google.

I have the same problem. All of the times I need to watch something on my computer and casting to my tv, I need to use google chrome. once, I saw in the features of Firefox mobile (in google play) it was able to cast to tv but after I installed it I saw that the function didn`t work. That`s very bad because Firefox is my favorite web browser too as on my laptop as on my smartphone. I hope that that can be solved as soon as possible.

The possible solution is to develop an open source video cast, and recoup the investment by selling the physical devices, not the software.
