Unread messages filter
In the email client I have just come from the Unread folder contains all unread messages irrespective of the folder they might be in. The Unread filter in Thunderbird appears to relate only to the highlighted folder. I have many folders, the list being long not all are visible on the 'home' view. This means that messages in folders far down the list are only visible if I scroll down looking for them. Is there a way to modify the Unread filter to ensure that all folders are searched for unread messages and displayed together? I am using TB 91.8.1.

Try a virtual folder, by saving the search you create in the Ctrl+shift+F search messages.
You are limited to a single "account" for the search. But in my case I use local folders for everything as it is POP so everything gets searched.

Perfect! That works just as I wanted it to. Thank you! I also brought my new 'Unread' folder up to just below my 'Inbox' folder using the 'Manually sort folders' addon.
In the same manner I created a 'Starred' folder so I can now see a global list of starred mail.
