Skydrive displays blank thumbnails of photos. No problem in IE8

Uploaded numerous photos to Skydrive. When I go into my Hotmail account I cannot display any of them - the file names are displayed but no thumbnails. If I do the same with IE8 they are displayed with no problem. Seems to be a FF issue but have tried all the obvious checks on settings etc.

See:

  • A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure?) on the left end of the location bar.
  • A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
  • Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
  • Select the first image link and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Thanks for suggestions. When I disabled Adblock Plus 1.3.3 I suddenly got my thumbnails back! Grateful for your help. Now all I have to do is work out how to get Adblock up and running without affecting my thumbnails...........

You might want to visit the Adblock Plus support forum for help with that issue.

Thanks, edmeister. Had a look at site but unable to pin down problem. Even more annoying - I've lost all my thumbnails again. Have uninstalled Adblock but no change. Been very happy with FF till now and don't want to change but may have to swap to IE for Skydrive.

Did you you check the missing images in Tools > Page Info > Media ?

Yes, cor-el, I checked the images in ............Media. Block image was not check marked. Various backgrounds, icons & images listed for page displayed - all had size & px apart from photos which were zero.

What happens if you copy such a link (click the location to select and press Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C) and paste it in the location bar?

If the images do not show when opened via the location bar then they are either non-existent or blocked by an extension or security software.

Hi, again, corel. Took drastic action as fed up with whole thing. Re-installed FF, Norton software, Windows Live software and finally Adblock Plus. I have my thumbnails back!! Have tried various times, shutdown etc etc and all is fine. Don't know why all ok but won't worry about it unless it happens again............. Appreciate assistance from cor-el and edmeister.
