Is there any way to get Firefox to show Thumbnails?

I've been using Firefox for a while now, but it's never really bothered me until now.

Every time I open a website with thumbnails they come up as links instead of what they should be and if I click those links it just takes me to a small picture(what should be the thumbnail, I guess) which I can't do anything with.

I've tried with and without AddOns(NoScript/AdblockPlus), and I've made sure [Load Images Automatically] is ticked, but nothing seems to work. Any help is appreciated greatly, thanks. :)

Do you see the images in Tools > Page Info > Media ?

See:

If the settings in Firefox are correct then check your security software (firewall) to make sure that it isn't blocking the images.

Thanks for the reply, cor-el, I checked to see if I could see any of the images in Media but there wasn't any, though there was some of the background, avatars and emoticons.

I also checked through the link you gave me: I tried clearing Cache and Cookies, Force-reloading, without AddOns, all of the things in 'About:config' it said(all were normal/default), checked the exceptions in 'Tools>Options>Content', the links weren't Backslashes.

I checked my Firewall(Not that great with computers, but I'm on XP and using AVG), and I didn't seem to find anything to do with Image blocking, and it should displays a notification when Firewall blocks a program(if that would show for images, I don't know).

So, even with all that I can't seem to find the problem. Anything else? I really love Mozilla and it's annoying to have to go into IE just to see some images load. :(
