Are you getting any error messages ?
Obviously Firefox should install ok and run.Ty killing any Firefox process or plugincontainer and try to start again.
Have you any security software that may be blocking Firefox or changes to the computer ? Is this the first time you have tried to install Firefox on this machine ? For some suggestions See

Yes I have killed the process via taskmanager (many times)... Rebooted. Cygwin could be installed and run. The machine has Symantec Endpoint Protection running. I have looked at all logs on this and have found nothing relating to the Firefox I just tried (looked by date/time)... Just tried another one... nothing blocked....
I also have gone through this:
◦Firefox does not work - Common fixes to get you back up and running .
It does not complain.... It shows as running but displays nothing.
If this is the first install of Firefox you will have no settings or bookmarks or software extensions to loose. Do a full uninstall including deleting the Firefox programs folder and the Firefox profile then reinstall using a new copy of the installer. (Firefox 13 or 14 if you wait a day or so )

John, I've done the uninstall, clean things from registry, and get rid of install path. Not sure what you mean by (Firefox 13 or 14 if you wait a day or so)....
I was just pointing out that if all goes to plan Firefox 14 is due to be released soon.
Oh.... Okay... got it... Thanks...

I am having the same problem.
Hi gdfritz, you probably would have done better by asking your own question in a new thead using /questions/new.
- Have you tried reinstalling Firefox ?
- Have you had Firefox installed previously, or is this your first attempt at installing firefox ?
Ensure you get a genuine copy of Firefox from for instance:
Note now Firefox is on version 16. See also
