This just started happening. Whenever I use thee control+f tool, I type one letter and then I start to type the following letters into the address bar. I must click back into the find box to type each letter, as it jumps to the address bar with every letter I type. This is very frustrating, please help.

That's definitely not by design... In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the find feature in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference?

After trying to use it as you suggested in safe mode control + f worked perfectly, and upon restarting Firefox the feature is working back to normal. Not really sure what happened, but thank you for your help!
