Why doesn't Firefox allow TunnelBear to be installed as an extension?

When I search the list of add-ons for TunnelBear, I cannot find it. Neither does there appear to be a way of manually adding it.

There is a lot of VPN's available : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?platform=linux&q=VPN

I would imagine that TunnelBear can not meet the requirements of being a Extension : https://www.howtogeek.com/333230/why-firefox-had-to-kill-your-favorite-extension/
