Using the new Firefox 79 for Android, I find myself with dozens of open tabs. I don't recall this happening with the previous version (like several other things...).

Is there no way to open address bar searches, links etc. in the current/same tab? Thank you.

Hi

With the new version of Firefox for Android, actions will open in a new tab. This is something that we may look to change in a future update.

Hi George, did you ever find a solution to this? It's really annoying me, having an extra tab open everytime I open the browser.

No solution unfortunately, only alternative browsers...

Until this is changed, I'll be using a different browser called Chrome. It's too bad too. This is the reason I changed back to Firefox from Chrome. As an Android user, it is easier to use Chrome, but Firefox had this great feature where you don't end up with 30 tabs open. Why would anyone want multiple tabs open on a phone anyway? When I do it on my computer, it kills the battery. It kills my battery on my phone too. I hope the update happens next week or you've lost one of your few remaining users.
