I run OSX 10.6.8. Update to FF 13 means my secondary accounts (my children) can no longer use FF. Why?

Following update to FF 13 other users can no longer use FF. I set parental controls to allow FF but when the app is accessed from within the user account it says access is not provided. I can 'allow once' but selecting 'always allow' sets up a loop and the same message box pops up repeatedly. So no FF on any account other than the main.

Try to trash the current Firefox installation and reinstall a freshly downloaded full version to see if that helps.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop

  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.
