Some how I got worldoftanks redirect virus in my firefox so I figure the only way to get rid of it is to uninstall my browser. Then reinstall a clean copy but I don't want to loose all my bookmarks, cookies, passwords, and so on. How do I save them or transfer them to another browser so I can transfer them back.

ourcupoftea,

If you uninstall Firefox, it won't erase your data unless you select the box 'Remove my personal Firefox data and customizations in the uninstaller. Other than that, you should be safe.

You might want to check in your Add-ons Manager to see if you have anything that relates to the virus such as a toolbar and you can also reset your home page by going to Options > General > Restore to Default > OK.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Also, here are the steps to backup/restore your personal data just in case..

Firefox uses a Profile Folder to keep all of your settings in place. You can find it at %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\. where xxxxxxxx represents a random string of characters. You can get it to it quicker by clicking Start and copying/pasting this into the search box %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. Once you are there, you can right click the Profile folder then click Copy then paste it somewhere safe by right clicking and pressing Paste. Restoring a Profile shows you how to restore your profile folder.
