active x needed for internet banking
Hi,
Since the last update I can't login to my private banking. The banks website is missing a login "button" on their login page. Before the update it was there. I called the bank, they told me it has to do with privacy settings and active x, however I can't find the settings section for this problem have looked in extra - options ,all fields , added this site adress: https://www.abnamro.nl/nl/prive/betalen/internet-bankieren/index.html to all possible settings which contains "allow"
Please advise. So what I guess is needed is firefox needs to allow the above website to use an active x setting I think. Might it be a extention or plugin that's missing?
Thanks Marcel

Thanks guys,
I solved the problem by uninstalling with revo uninstaller, that way everything goes. reset bookmarks and voila.
Isn't there a reset button to just reset to when one started?

I have tried going that site using Firefox 29.0.1 and I see the Login button. Perhaps you need to update your Firefox to 29.0.1?
Strange it happened after I updated to 29.0.1 tx for replying
Hello,
You will not find ActiveX in Firefox, it is used by Internet Explorer.
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:
- Click the menu button and click History button, and then Clear Recent History... .
- Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
- Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
- From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
- Now click the Clear now button.
Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Thanks,
But the problem remains the same. Only thing I noticed first time was shockwave error: Script: chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:171
Done it a few times even tried adv.sys.care it clears junk etc. but did not help.
chrome:// is a protocol that Firefox uses internally to access XUL (XML) and JavaScript code added by Firefox itself and extensions. You can paste the code (without a trailing line number :### - "chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js") in the location bar to see the content of such a file. You may need to use View > Page Source in case of an XML file.
Programs like Advanced SystemCare are known to cause problems and may do changes to Firefox.
That script looks like a problem with clearing private data saved by plugins.
You can try to enable only one setting at the time to Clear Recent History (go to the new Firefox menu (3 bar) -> Options ->Privacy) to see which one is causing that problem.

Bilbo,
Oh I don't know. If only there was a button to reset Firefox. Oh wait there is! ;)
- The image "new fx menu" does not exist. -> (?) Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Reset Firefox
Make sure that JavaScript is enabled and isn't blocked.
- The javascript.enabled prefs should be true on the about:config page
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
