I block various sites in "options, privacy, exceptions" but they still over ride the block. How do I stop this?

No matter how many times I block various site in "options, privacy. exceptions" -- such as "ajax.cloudflare.com", "apis.google.com", "www.google.com", "www.youtube.com" etc they still give themselves permission to enable cookies. How do I stop this?

Have you tried some extensions/addons ? such like Block Site .

A support thread on Parental Control is here http://mzl.la/1xKrBZD , you can get some more from here.

Hi Chandan,

I have tried that over the last 3 weeks but it makes no difference. I can go on to "about:permissions", block all the various websites and as soon as I go onto any website where Microsoft / Google/youtube etc have any connection they just unblock themselves again. I am sometimes blocking them 3/4 times a night.

I don't want to believe the Firefox has some arrangement with these companies to allow them to do this but I can't see how otherwise these companies can just override what is supposed to be a secure browser.

If you / anyone can suggest something to stop these people from just hijacking my security I would be grateful

Did you try to block the top level domain (google.com)?

more options

Hi Cor-el, I have blocked as standard the top level domains of pernicious sites:- ie - www.youtube.com - www.google.com - www.paypal.com - www.blogger.com - cloudflare.com.

It makes no difference. As soon as I go on any blog site, Amazon or one that has photos or film clips that can be downloaded (even though I don't download them) privacy block gets overridden.

I just had a thought though. Amazon is the only one of those sites that I "allow first party only" access to (I can't open my account unless I do that) so I wonder if allowing just one site some access that lets the others in through a back door??

I traced where these cookies are being stored on my PC and they always go into "AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies.

Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone from Firefox technical support monitor this forum?
