Hello,

First off, I'm not talking about the "Textise" add-on and the "Fangs" add-on. Those two can only transform a webpage that has already been downloaded and displayed. That's not what I want.

What I am looking for is an add-on that, once activated, lets FireFox start to display all the webpage in the future in complete text mode, just like the "Text-only version" of a cached webpage at Google.

Is there such an add-on?

Does these extensions do what you want?

You may still need (background) images for buttons or you may not see them.

You can also look at Adblock Plus

You need to subscribe to a Filter list (e.g. the EasyList).

Do you mean that you want text only and no images? If so, you could go into Options > Content and uncheck "Load images automatically".

Thank you, guys, for responding. Those links are great. I appreciate.

Further clarifying my quesion, what I'm looking for is something like a button on the toolbar or the add-on bar. Then I may push that button, and from the time I push the button, FireFox will download and display every webpage in pure text (no pictures, no scripts, no videos, no css, nothing but text), like what the Textise website does, or like the text-only version of a webpage cached at Google.

For example, I push that button, paste cnn.com (or a malicious hacker's site, maybe) into the address bar, press the Enter key, and FireFox will show me the webpage in pure text.
