I would link to move my profile directory to a new location --- it seems that the best place for it would be a folder in my dropbox directory --- is this possible --- the best solution would be able to install thunderbird in dropbox so that any one of my computers can run thunderbird

I am using a Mac with Big Sur (macOS Monterey Version 12.7.6), and my email is POP, using Thunderbird Version 128.4.2esr. My incoming messages are sorted in reverse order so that the latest message is listed first. I retrieve the message headers first then I either delete the message or download the contents of the message. The problem is that when I click on the download instructions Thunderbird does download the message OK, '''BUT it highlights the message just downloaded and it jumps to the next message. '''This is very annoying because in order to read the contents of the message I have to go back one message and purposely select the message just downloaded. It did not do this previously. Please correct or tell me the corrective action I should take.

The global search in TB is completely defective. I am now running 128.2.0esr and hoped that update might fix it. It hasn't. I just wonder, are there any older or non ESR versions I can downgrade/move to, where the search is fully functional?

I just downloaded Thunderbird on my new Mac, asked it to synch with my email and it's done it very imperfectly, missing lots of folders and sub-folders, showing deleted and archived folders (in italics) and so on. It did this on a previous desktop too, where I uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it to try - but failed - to solve the issue. What did I, or it, do wrong and how do I correct it? Recently I can no longer access emails. I always get the message "Login to the server secureimap.t-online.de with user name ... failed". This applies to the t-online and gmail accounts.

I have for many years moved relevant email messages from my inbox to an archive folder. My wife who also uses Thunderbird does the same.

Some time in the not too distant past Thunderbird has started preventing me from moving files from folder to folder.

I am running the latest version of Thunderbird.

Even though I'm logged in on TB with my Mozilla pw, TB will not reveal my passwords in TB settings. I use @hotmail.com and there appears to be a problem with pop3 server, Microsoft and TB. I get a authentication failure and according to FAQs I need to delete my pw in TB and enter a new one. But can't get there to delete.

on Windows 11, my installation of Thunderbird was only partially successful. I created my own installation path, as permitted by the Thunderbird installation instruction which included a "Local Folders" folder as a placeholder for all of my wife mail folders. But after copying all of her mail folder to C:Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\Local Folders - Thunderbird can't find them . The installation app gave no warning of impending doom. Any ideas about what might have gone wrong? I installed Thunderbird several times into slightly different paths - but not the default because I do my own backups and need to know where my files are located. Even though I am the administrator of the system I also got some messages telling me I wasn't an authorized user. Thanks for any tips, ideas or even complete solutions are appreciated. C:Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\Local Folders has all my mail folders from my previous computer - but Thunderbird can't find them - Why? I can send and receive e-mail but none of my folders are available

Thunderbird version 128.4.3esr (64-Bit): I followed the instructions (tools > export for mobile), but no accounts are shown to be exported to my Android mobile. Following the support link there, I do not see why my account is configured in a way that is not supported by Thunderbird for Android. On my earlier mobile, this account could be used.

I access several email addresses on several devices. A couple of months ago, I stopped being able to download emails from my Hotmail account to my desktop (where I keep all the good stuff). Thunderbird didn't like my password, though it was working okay everywhere else. I have now changed the password and Thunderbird still doesn't like it. What else can I do?

Hello Folks Incoming email is posted directly to my Trash folder and not to my Inbox on my Thunderbird program. Can anyone help me with this problem please? Terry O 2shea@email.com

Cannot connect Thunderbird on Win11 to my email account on mobile.charter.net. TBird recognizes mobile.charter.net and returns the configuration but subsequent login fails and is presenting mail.twc.net on the login screen. Outlook will connect using mail.twc.net. Any ideas?

Please Help Me. Have been a Thunderbird user for over 10 years. I have "new" desktop with windows 11. when setting up my thunderbird account for my three email accounts the gmail setup when fine, but the other two accounts will not SEND emails. All settings are same for incoming and outgoing SMTP. Have spoken with TWC and confirmed the settings and they said it's on your end. Please Help! thanks.Mike

Apologies if this is a very basic question but I've searched for an answer and not found one that works. I'm using Thunderbird 128.4.3 on a Windows 10 desktop PC.

If I click on a message which already has several replies, each reply is opened in a separate tab. I thought there was an alternative to this, and indeed a found a piece about it, which includes this advice:

Enable threading on a folder... Open the View menu... In the Sort by submenu, choose Threaded. Your messages will be bundled into tree structures that can be expanded or collapsed with the > or v arrow next to the subject.

Unfortunately, when I looked at the settings for a few of my folders, the Threaded option was already ticked. But the ladder-with-indents display I w as expecting (and hoping for) doesn't appear. I'd be grateful for any advice.

stopped sending emails. a new error message : login to smtp comcast.net with username( the only email address I have ever had) failed. i have no idea what to do. Yesterday I got a completely different error message about some authentication B.S. a couple of people have responded with suggestions that I dont understand. how do you check something when you dont know what it should be ?

Hi I have been at this for almost 2 days and have accomplished nothing. I am trying to get Thunderbird calendar and Zoho calendar to sync.

Everything is fine on Zoho but I can't find anything about syncing for Thunderbird. I am looking for CalDAV but it doesn't exist for my calendars.

If someone can help me I would be really thankful.

I am running Thunderbird snap 128 esr on Ubuntu 24.4. A few days ago the usual alert popped up advising me that a new version of Thunderbird was available. I duly closed the programme, waited a little while and then reopened it. But on checking I found that it was still stuck on 128.4.2, while the release notes say that the latest version is 128.4.4. Yesterday the alert appeared again. I again closed and opened the programme but found it to be still on 12.4.2. The same thing happened again today. Any idea why Thunderbird is apparently not updating? NB: Each day the alert is reducing by one the number of days in which it says Thunderbird will be automatically updated.

I do not receive attached files in my emails. As far as I know all my server settings are correct. I have disabled my VPN so that is not interfering as it does with sending emails. Thunderbird was set up to preview pdf docs but it doesn't.
