No Sound in Firefox
Some time after upgrading to Firefox 64-bit 57.0.3, audio completely stopped working in Firefox (HTML5, Flash, etc). The audio icon does not show up on the tab. I've gone through all standard troubleshooting guides on this issue. I've also tried the solutions discussed here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1189634) with no success. I've attempted downgrading to multiple older versions of Firefox (32-bit and 64-bit) that did previously have working audio. This was after removing all Firefox related content from my computer (Profile folders, registry entries, etc). I've attempted running in Safe Mode -- same result.
Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting?

It's more of a Windows issue but even with a known cause and fix it may not get fixed in Windows for a while. However Mozilla may be doing a patch workaround in 58.0 and 52 ESR as a patch is working on Nightly development channel builds. There are 57.0.3 and 52.5.3esr updates today but not for this.
Modified
Yeah, I tried out the current Developer Edition build and it's working again.
