Recent Windows 10 update (ver 1909) now requires that I allow Thunderbird to make changes to PC. How do I correct this issue? I have reviewed settings to allow programs through any firewall but it still requires that I authenticate whether or not Thunderbird can launch. This is not a critical issue, but it never happened before. My current version of Thunderbird is 68.2.0.

Also, can I change a setting in Thunderbird and Firefox that always asks me if I want to review my passwords?

You issue is Windows UAC, I suggest you direct your attention to that source of information .

The only windows setting that is checked on startup of Thunderbird is if Thunderbird is the default mail client. Once that change has been made, it should not change again unless you are using another mail program like Microsift office outlook which is also changing the default in Windows.
