How to request a new mail app in the mail app list?

I read the article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-default-email-program-firefox-ios

My email application is ProtonMail which isn’t listed yet.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a process to request a new app in that list?

Also I know that iOS recently changed to allow setting the system default-maybe this setting was a workaround while the system wide setting wasn’t available. Maybe there’s a place I can go to see if the future of this setting will ultimately include “System default email app”?

Thanks for reading.

Hi David467

Currently there is no way to add an email app to the list, but there is a ticket open for adding support for ProtonMail.

My email app is Hey. Firefox users will inevitably use a range of email apps. It would probably be easier in long run for the development team to enable the iOS default email app.

What does the development team think?

This is a feature that lead me to give Brave a spin. Firefox has a lot going for it over Brave in terms of functionality but being able to follow mailto: links in preferred email app would be great.
