Maybe once a week or fortnight, I haven't tracked count, but it has been been happening for at least 3 or 4 months, the browser becomes completely unresponsive, it doesn't even repaint the screen if I switch apps, so I try to continue on a other app, say Firefox Beta but more recently Google Chrome and continue reading and doing there what I was trying to do. After usually a minute or two, Android tells me Firefox has become unresponsive (forgot the actual exact message) and kill it. I have cleaned the app cache as suggested but to no avail, it keeps happening regularly, it is quite frustrating at times. I run Android 8.0, usually have 10-15 or so normal tabs open, and maybe 5 private ones open. On an unrelated note, I absolutely hate with passion how the simple feature of being able to reorder tabs has been taken away from users, it's become a painful exercise to switch between them now! I've been using Firefox since Deer Park (version 1.5) and have to say that some recent UI/UX changes weren't exactly feeling like going forward in usability.

Firefox team has been working on fixing the crashes and some additional information from you would help them fix the problem. Firstly, make sure that you are using the last version of the browser. Then please file a ticket with links your crash logs and the engineering team can take a look at them and send a fix. For information on how to do that, please see How to send a crash report on Firefox for Android.

Thanks Denis, I had a quick look at the list of crashes and it doesn't seem to show anything recent, so I'm not sure if the issue qualifies as a crash. It freezes and only comes back to life after the OS kills it, maybe not leaving it a chance to trace anything. Is there a way to kill the app and doing a mini core dump or similar if you want a back trace?

Hi

What is the make and model of your Android device?

Do you have many other apps open?

Have you tried clearing the cache (not data!) in the Android Settings app for Firefox and for other apps you use often?

Hi Seburo, I have a Samsung Galaxy S7

Do you have many other apps open?

Usually yes, right now I counted 37 of them, not sure but I think memory management should put backgrounded apps to sleep or soft exit after a while or if extra memory is needed right?

As mentioned in my first post, I have cleaned the app cache as suggested but to no avail. I don't understand how cleaning other apps' cache is related but no I haven't done that for most other apps.
