I recently replaced most of my Firefox Homepage Site Icons with custom icons. (No easy task... loking at you Mozilla)... :)

Now that I have them replaced, whenever I start Firefox the custom site icons take a long time to load.

The previous default site icons appeared to be cached and I was hoping I could force my custom site icons to cache locally to improve loading times.

Anything that changes the Firefox icons beyond the standard setup would require contacting the site or developer that your using to changes the icons for them to provide support if there is problem with icons or how it loads. If this is your own creation then you will have to debug what is happening during the load process as that isn't something Firefox issue.

The method I am using is provided by Firefox.

On the Homepage, if you click on the 3 dot menu on the top right corner of a site icon you can edit the shortcut.

You have the choice of using whatever the website URL provides, usually the favicon or you can use a Custom Image URL, as long as you are using HTTPS which I am using.

There should be vert little difference in the load times of site icons if they are all coming from directly from the websites.

Maybe it's their site is lagging that is causing this since the site isn't Firefox they have no control how that sites works with using their custom URL on firefox. You need to contact their site support for this since that isn't Firefox.
