I have a Microsoft IntelliMouse. The right side-button is set to "Close" - basically, the same function as Ctrl-W.

With the 3.X versions of Firefox, clicking this button would close a tab. It was useful when I had a bunch of tabs open and wanted to close them easily without using the keyboard or go to all the effort of taking the mouse pointer to the tab bar.

Having upgraded to Firefox 4 when I click it it tries to close the whole window, not one specific tab. I wonder if this is related to users who have complained that the "Close" option isn't in the main menu any more.

Middle-click on the Tab to close that Tab.

That would still require me to go to the vast amount of effort to move the cursor up to the tab bar. My wrist doesn't have that kind of strength! :-P

I want to know if there is a way to tell Firefox that when I click a button designated "Close" on my mouse, it knows that I want to close one tab, and not close the whole window.
