Good evening,

Recently I'm facing a lot of firefox rapid crashing and I went through all trouble shooting steps, till I reached (disabling addon-per-time, plugin-per-time) step.

The problem had been almost solved when I picked (ask to activate, NOT always activate) option for flash player, which is the latest version of flash player.

I'm not sure if it is about the flash player itself, or is it some sort on conflict between flash player and some other addon/plugin which kept causing this issue.

My windows is 8.1, free of viruses system, fully updated and the hardware is fully functional with no glitches.

My question is: anyone have an idea about if it is might be a conflict between flash player and another addon/plugin which is causing this problem? or is it all about flash player it self? *

  • As far as I know the list of addons/plugins has been attached with this report, which can be reviewed.

Thank you guys in advance for taking time to look into this issue..

Sometimes there is a conflict between the Flash plugin and an extension which touches its content, such as a downloader or ad blocker.

This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before in various support articles, but just in case:

(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash

(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"

(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

(3) Disable the Protected Mode feature. The feature has security benefits, but is not compatible with all systems for some reason. You can disable it by creating or editing a settings file.

The following pages/posts provide different approaches for that:

You may need to exit and start Firefox up again before this takes effect.

Any improvement?

@jscher2000

Thank you a lot sir for your fast response, it's much appreciated :)

That's true I use ad blocker (adblock plus), it wasn't causing any problem in the past, but it seems like it triggered some problem now.

I will follow the steps you have mentioned step by step and I will reply back with what I will find as soon as possible after trial and error procedure.

Thank you a lot for the help.

Ok, first step i took is i unchecked (use hardware acceleration when available) from advanced > general menu of FireFox, with keeping (Ad block plus) addon and Flash player plugin (Always activated)

It seems like this has solved the crashing problem. I just faced 1(one) crash during hours of testing which I believe is a random can-be-tolerated crash due to some other addon (Maybe the reason is Ad block plus/flash player are On together).

i guess this solved everything for me :)

@jscher2000

Thank you again sir for your valuable help, and have a great night.
