Download error 43.0.3 points to 43.0.1
Downloading attempts from "https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/" for 43.0.3 all point to 43.0.,1 download instead of 43.0.3 files

How many of those WinXP users are actually using a Firefox version let alone within the last few major Releases.
Doing support here and at mozillaZIne it is not uncommon for when WinXP users posted a Firefox thread, they were using a rather old version. They often times had their reasons or beliefs about not using a recent Release.
Serving Firefox 43.0.1 to WinXP users in general is not going to scare them away.
I Imagine if the browser useragents (showing NT 5.1) Did show the difference on WinXP users using SP2 or SP3 when downloading Firefox, Mozilla would serve 43.0.1 to SP2 users and 43.0.4 to SP3 users.
Also it is not as if WinXP users is missing out on reasons the 43.0.2, 43.0.3, 43.0.4 were released for. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/
Also I imagine Firefox usage will increase in April on as Google Chrome is basically screwing Windows XP, Vista and Mac OSX users using 10.8 and older by dropping support for those OS's in April.

Not a problem with Windows 7...
However, if you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 instead of Service Pack 3, you might not be able to get 43.0.3. I saw something about a SHA-256 vs. SHA-1 issue but didn't really delve into the details. Do you have SP3?

Not a error but intentional for WinXP users as the 43.0.2 on would not install for WinXP SP2 users.
WinXP users are being served 43.0.1 though after installing you may be able to update internally.

G'day jscher2000, Yes I have XP Pro SP3. However this should not be an issue when downloading global versions and Mozilla Firefox should not detect the OS and restrict any global version from downloading. I am a service Tech and need to be able to download all versions for and all OS's.
I get this also when downloading Adobe Flash and and other drivers and it's getting to be a pain in the rear butt.
Thanks for reply anyway

Please read my reply to "jscher2000 " Additionally, your comment regarding XP users and the feeble attempt to then bar XP users from downloading all version updates for all OS's is getting to be a pain in the rear. This is occurring with other downloads as well. XP users need to be separately warned if they only install a product version for a particular operating system and MUST NOT be blocked from being able to download any product version in any browser.
Supporting Firefox is getting to be a problem while Mozilla implements these type of download blockages and I should not need to change browsers or Operating Systems (as is the case when downloading Adobe Flash updates, need to use IE as Firefox detects the browser and restricts download to Firefox version " ... flash_player_20_plugin .... " types) to download any files, folders, drivers or updates.
I need to find a solution for downloading using XP Pro SP3. - any ideas please anyone ?
Regards pcbugfixer
Does this URL work or does it still redirect?
https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-latest&os=win&lang=en-US
Note to Mozilla / Firefox Developers and Volunteers.
Firefox 43.0.3 works well in XP Pro SP3 !
So why restrict the download while using XP Pro SP3 ?
I need the Download for All available Languages 80+ - http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ to be totally active for all browsers and Operating Systems.
This is a universal down-loader site and should not have any detector parameters restricting any OS from downloading the latest versions of Firefox, in my humble experience of 35+ years in IT.
If there is an issue in using any version for a particular OS, then there should be a separate warning of this on the header of the download page with a redirect to the download of the previous or compatible version for the OS.

Actually, that's the same script, isn't it.
You may need to do it manually: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/
I'm not sure how you can provide comments to whoever manages the download site, but you may want to look around here:

Nice try jscher2000, however this is the same as if I used the "All available Languages 80+ - http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/" site and chose the "English (US)" as it point to 43.0.1 for all the download while in XP Pro SP3.
Good of you to have looked further on this issue. thanks again.

Problem is the useragent gives no indication of whether a user has WinXP SP2 or SP3.
This is the first time they have done this sort of serving this version for this Windows OS on mozilla.org thing that I recall.
I doubt they will instead do modifications to stub and or full setup for the small number of WInXP users using Firefox, more so when WinXP has been EOL since April 2014.
You have to see it from a support stand point. Would you rather WinXP SP2 users get a version they cannot run and then have to come to places like here or at independent forums.mozillazine.org and ask why? or they decided to downgrade to vulnerable Fx 42 (or some random version they had on HDD or find, this happens a lot) or they just give up and use some other browser.
Also people do not read warnings/stickies or they think they know better and go ahead anyways.
If you really need to download Firefox 43.0.3 vs doing update from 43.0.1 then see http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/43.0.3/win32/

It's by version, so 43.0.3 -- there's no longer an alias for "latest" on that server.
You can try to spoof the user agent to make the server think you use a more recent Windows OS.
- Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0

G'day james, God comments however I tend not to agree with the tenure of the implications.
In reply to the number of Win XP Pro SP3 users still in existence.
Redmond Magazine recons this at 250+ Million still in existence (https://redmondmag.com/articles/2015/04/08/windows-xp-usage.aspx)
Netmarketshare “netmarketshare.com” suggests that XP only has 10.59%, whichever research you want to use, there are approximately 2+ Billion PC (Personal Computers) in use estimated as at July 2015. This does not include an estimate 1.01+ billion smartphone units, 227.3+ million tablet computers and 180.9+ million portable PCs. No wonder Oracle Java can claim that 3 Billion devices use Java.
Let’s cut to the chase, 10.59% of 2 Billion is = 211,800,000 Million, i.e. 211.8 million users still on XP using the above researched figures which Microsoft tends to also use.
On the last figure I calculated after spending some 2 weeks doing so, I estimated that the XP users still in existence is closer to 300+ million. These are not a small or minority number of users !!!
Now to the Browser Market share. According to http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp Firefox has 19.2 % of the Browser market as at Nov 2015, that makes it 57.6 million users on XP using Firefox which is not a number of users to be sneered at by Mozilla Firefox developers.
Like Adobe Flash and Java, I forecast that Windows XP users will still number above 100 million by 2020.
I doubt that my calculation are too exaggerated, rather are within ball park figures considering that I have been servicing Microsoft Operating systems for more than 20 years. ☺

Clearly, others disagree with this philosophy.
I understand many people still use XP, but how many of them turn off internal updating and want to download full installers for specific versions? I don't have statistics on that, but I suspect it is a rare combination today. It may grow when XP SP2 users hear about Firefox 44 and discover that their Firefox no longer updates, if that's what happens.

G'day jscher2000,
You said, "Clearly, others disagree with this philosophy." I would also tend to agree with this statement and suggest that it is attributed to those that fall into this category, i.e. They don't read any instructions and believe they Know it all. ☺
Anyway all this is getting off topic so I will mark it as solved whereas it is not solved however highlighted the issue and question of "Does Mozilla Firefox want to increase it's market share or not ? - Not including a large User market decreases the market share. Seems Firefox is making some bad decisions and is in reverse gear.
Regards pcbugfixer Topic closed - thanks all for your contributions. ☺
Firefox 43.0.4 works in Windows XP Pro SP3
Never mind about 64 bit XP sp2 which is the small percentage of XP Users as low as .
Obviously the volunteers writing the codes are being told what to do my some, in my opinion, twisted Management mind that may have little or no marketing experience on how to retain the current market share for the Firefox Browser and seems intent on loosing it. Loosing Windows XP users is going to put a large dent in Firefox's market share.
I estimate that of the 211.8 million users still on XP only 12.6% are 64bit users = 26.6 Million leaving approximately 185.11 million XP 32bit users.
Having researched the matter of remaining XP users, I now estimate that the figure is more like 386.75 Million.
I suggest you read my post again and the analogy I posted Posted 12/31/15, 7:43 PM
We are supposed to increase the market share not decrease it !!!
