Is there an issue with Firefox on Linux, I have no connectivity since yesterday morning I live in west midlands uk
I am connected to the net, I can access Firefox in XP. I have no connectivity to Firefox on Linux Mint 15 on both my laptop and PC. Both work fine on XP connecting to Firefox. I have had numerous cases of Linux dropping out over the last few months.

Hi John, Thanks again for getting back to me. Shortly after my last post I put my PC on and it went into Mozilla with no issues at all. I assume that the Linux website has been brought up again by the administartors that operate Lynux. I am not really sure but everything seems back to normal now. Thanks
Andy

I thought I had replied to this, guess I closed down before it sent.
OK here in UK and using a Mint Live Memory stick.
I do note their MINT news

The belated initial post
Hi pepein, I am not sure this is going to turn out to be a Firefox support issue.
I see not particular reason why you should have a problem just in Mint. I am using Linux myself right now from the UK, but not Mint.
IIRC Mint's site and downloads were hacked recently.
You could have a problem with Mint itself, or may be trying to use their site. Have you tried with an alternative browser from Mint ?
What error messages are you getting ? What exactly does or does not happen ?
I will try later from at least a live dvd/memory stick Mint and check that works.
Not sure who added the escalate tag without commenting ? It was not me, but I will leave the Tag.
Hi John 99 Thank you for your response to my post.
When I try to go into Firefox on Linux I get the following message:
UNABLE TO CONNECT
FIREFOX CAN'T ESTABLISH A CONNECTION TO THE SERVER AT www.linuxmint.com.
There is then the usual 3 bullet points suggesting what may be the cause of the problem.
I installed this copy of Linux Mint 15 sometime ago from a known good disc. Until Sunday the 20th February 2016 it had worked fine, connecting to Firefox every time with no problem.
As you suggested I tried another browser (Yahoo) on Linux and this worked fine. I have now made this my default browser on Linux and now I can get onto the Internet with no problem. I still have the problem on my PC, well I did the last time I looked.
Thanks again for your help and advice.

Hi Andy, Try other sites, our support.mozilla.org for example do they work ?
If it is just linux.mint.com (and that works for me as you can see from my first post) then try clearing the cookies and reloading using keyboard shortcut Ctl + F5
- Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can
- Clear cookies and site data in Firefox_delete-cookies-for-a-single-site
On Windows systems especially after an upgrade of Firefox that sort of error is often related to security software not recognising the new browser

Great, I will mark your answer the solution
Hi John Ok on that, at least everything is online now. Maybe if I had thought about it a bit more I could have avoided bothering you. Thanks again for your help
Best regards
Andy
