Within Firefox Addon- Flash says it needs to be updated even after I update it 4 times
Addon says Shockwave Flash needs updated in bold red, so I clicked on update now. Actually I have done this several times now. It goes through the update and still says Firefox keeps saying Shockwave Flash is know to be vulnerable and should be updated. However n ow it says I updated on August 25, 2019 and on version 32.0.0.207.
My question why does it keep showing "Shockwave Flash is know to be vulnerable and should be updated" yet also shows I just updated today?
Is this a FF issue or Flash? I always have it set to Ask To Activate, but that shouldn't matter. On Firefox 68.0.2 64 bit and WIndows 10 current.

I didn't get any comments or direction to do a restart. At first I thought NoScripts might have stopped some comment, but Firefox wasn't running during the update. Don't know why I wasn't prompted for a restart?

Per this - https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ - Version 32.0.0.238 is the latest for the NPAPI version of Flash which is what Firefox uses.
Overall, there are 3 distinct versions of Flash; each web browser core uses a different one - so you need the one for Firefox to be up-to-date.

For over a year, an epidemic of Fake Update Notices have been popping up all over the place. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-response-i-found-fake-firefox-update
I had already tried going to Adobe direct and it still didn't work. I would get to step 3 where it starts up FF saying all was well.
What I finely did is a restart, that did it, now it shows August 25, 2019 and 32.0.0.238 instead of 32.0.0.207. I don't understand, it did an update today, but only to 32.0.0.207, but when I did a system restart it showed 32.0.0.238.
It had been a long time since I updated, if I keeping my records right, I last updated Adobe to 32.0.0.207 on 6/20/2019 at 2158 hrs. Strange, I guess it was just wanting a system restart. Don't remember that being required before???
Thanks, yes good idea to not click on links. I never click on email links, videos people send or other things like that.

Needing a system restart has been a standard part of Flash updates since the mid-1990's on Windows operating systems. I don't recall any times where I wasn't commanded to restart Windows to complete the installation of a Flash update.

When installing flash on my system, I was never told to do a re-boot. only to close the browser first.

Same here, but now that this happen I do remember at times I had to reboot to get it completed. Actually Flash isn't supported and there won't be new updates and not really needed.
Some web sites still use flash, so keep it up to date (for now).
