Redirect not functioning on Firefox 27
I was putting up a sales page on my site and I noticed that the redirect on my page was NOT FUNCTIONING with Firefox version 27, so I downloaded Firefox version 25 and the redirect on my sales page was working with Firefox version 25.
Can you look into this redirect problem with Firefox 27 and get back to me (all of us) with a solution?
Here is the URL for my sales page: http://cybermark-solutions.com/4steps1
When you try to leave the page, the page should redirect to another page. It works with Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari, BUT NOT FIREFOX VERSION 27.
Please fix this redirection problem and get back to be with your solution.

hello jt120651, it is the intended behaviour that alert() isn't allowed in onbeforeunload. many rogue sites use that to trap and scam users when they want to leave a page...
I need the problem solved. I need the redirect to function.
I don't need someone with some sort of morals to say that no redirect is okay, but rather I need to be able to see redirects when using Firefox 27. Why should I use Firefox 27 with redirect not functioning, when I can use Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari, and all of those well known browsers will redirect web pages when a redirect is being used on a web page. Can someone tell me how to fix this Firefox redirect problem or do I have to change to a FULLY FUNCTIONING BROWSER?
please refer to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/d.../window.onbeforeunload:
Since 25 May 2011, the HTML5 specification states that calls to window.showModalDialog(), window.alert(), window.confirm(), and window.prompt() methods may be ignored during this event.
Phillip,
Your answers are all mumbo-jumbo. Can you make is so Firefox 27 will open redirects?
if you feel that it's a bug, please file it at bugzilla.mozilla.org.
Try posting at the Web Development / Standards Evangelism forum at MozillaZine. The helpers over there are more knowledgeable about web page development issues with Firefox.

You'll need to register and login to be able to post in that forum.
Hi jt120651, you wrote:

It's simple, really.
Users hate getting trapped by crappy websites they want to leave. Users come first.
Make a site people want to visit without being forced.
Just who the heck are you?
Internet marketing is Internet marketing. Who died and made you quality website know-it-all?

All I wanted to know is if Firefox 27 can be made to open redirects.
Can you answer that or are you too goodie-two-shoes?
All I seek is an answer to my question, not some opinions from someone who thinks he knows it all...

Hi jt120651, that's my opinion. I'm a user. I suspect that other users closing your page without taking you up on your offer are with me on this one.
Yeah,
That's what I say all the way to the bank.....
The method you are using was blocked in response (largely) to the FBI Moneypak scam and similar ransomware pages. If you think your script was unintentional collateral damage, follow the earlier suggestions about filing a bug and/or seeking development suggestions on another forum.
If it didn't work, my friend, then why do I get paid for what I do? And I get paid well...
I don't scam. I sell products that will do what I say they will do. So I guess when one uses redirects legally, there is no crime...
Hi jt120651, if you are not aware of the FBI Moneypak scam, go read about it. I didn't say it has anything to do with you, but that blocking it is why your script is not working any more.
This thread already contains all the information you can get from this forum.
Never thought I would spend so much time on this Mozilla site. It's time to leave this conversation behind. I know now that people around here are not interested in providing answers, just opinions and redirects that are in the form of links on a page. Ga-bye
It's not my script, it's Firefox that is not accepting redirects. All the other browsers will work with redirects. I was disappointed with Firefox because I have been using it for many years, but now I know it does NOT do everything that other browsers do... So I guess I'll change my browser...
