Cant move/delete subfolders in inbox

I'm trying to move a sub-subfolder within my inbox to another subfolder. Sometimes I can do this without any issues, then other times I can't do it at all. When it doesn't work either nothing happens (I'm dragging folders to no avail) or I get the following error:

"The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account xxx@xxx.com responded: [CANNOT] Renaming not supported across conflicting directory permissions (0.000 + 0.000 secs). "

I've tried creating a new subfolder in the location I require it, then transferring the emails to the new folder. However I then cannot delete that same original folder that won't budge.

Can someone shed any light on this?

Are you by any chance using an imap mail account? Have you unsubscribed from seeing it?
