Whenever I press the built-in print button on Google Docs, rather than opening the print options menu as it would on Chrome or Safari, Firefox seems to think I am opening a PDF file. It asks me whether I want to save the file or open it in Preview or with another app. The only way I can actually print the document using the print button is setting it to open in my printer's app, "HP Envy 5660 Series." However, this doesn't allow me to customize the print options beforehand or see the printer view. I can also print using the top bar File//Print or clicking the print button I added to Firefox's menu bar but this also does not show me a "printer view" like on Chrome. Is there a way I can make built-in print buttons on websites work or do I just need to click the "print this page" button in my menu bar?

You're right. See bug 1521655.

Clicking menu ≡ -> Print… should open the print preview window, which is not ideal either.
