How do I block addresses from a mail list?

I started a new mail list. I entered all the addresses, but what I want to do is block all the names except the individual to whom that e-mail is sent. For example, I have a list that sends mail to a, b, c, d and e. I want only a's name in to:, only b's name in to: and so on. It's like sending a blind carbon copy to each person. Does that make any sense?

The simplest approach is create a mailing list and address a message to the list as a blind carbon copy:

but if you want each recipient's name in the To: box, use the Mail Merge add-on:

OK, I went to mailmerge and downloaded. I then tried to install it but it said "couldn't install because mailmerge isn't compatible with Firefox 30.0" There is no place in Thunderbird that I see where I can install add ons.

I did get it to send a message to <undisclosed recipients> by putting the list name as a BCC:

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong here?
