I'm told my Adobe Reader plug in is blocked because it's a old version, so how do I delete it and update to newer one?

I currently have a plugin Adobe Reader 9.1.0.163 installed. It says it is known to be unstable and should be updated. I also got a message that says Adobe Reader 9.5.1 and lower has been blocked for my protection. So how do I go about UNINSTALLING it to update the new version?

What version of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat do you have? Updating that should take care of the plugin automatically. If it doesn't, we can detail how to track down the old plugin and remove it.

To update your Adobe product, open it directly (outside Firefox) then on the Help menu, choose Check for Updates. If it claims to already be up-to-date, could you re-open the Help menu and choose the "About" item to check your current version number?

After updating Adobe Reader/Acrobat, you may need to exit and start Firefox up again before the change is detected. Any improvement?
