A couple of weeks ago Firefox stopped displaying images in Yahoo emails. I already tried suggestions listed at: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-problems-images-not-show

Images are not blocked as can be seen in the screenshot

I also tried the suggestions listed at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mixed-content-blocking-firefox

But there is no option to disable protection (see attached picture - sorry for the very low image quality - for some reason the little firefox window displaying the site security would disappear when I tried to take screenshots, so I had to take a picture with my cellphone..)

How can I disable protection for Yahoo and view images in emails?

Thanks!

Hi, separate security issue : Please remove Flash 10.1 r85

Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.140 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Thanks or the response, but that doesn't seem to be the cause of the issue. I do have version 29 (see attached screenshot)

I don’t use it, but think you should not get a mixed content warning (grey padlock and yellow exclamation mark) when visiting the main mail.yahoo.com page. If you see one in general, no option for disabling any protection should be available in Firefox. As you may understand, some message content may actually contain such content, so the warning would be valid. More info about the warnings and (similar?) issue can be found in this question.

Your question title is about blocked images, yet you wrote no images are actually blocked as seen in the image. I hope you realize the warning is about content, and not about images being blocked? Or are there really examples of messages not displaying inline images? If so, what does the Web Console report (Ctrl+Shift+K)?

Since you appear to be using Firefox 60 Beta, does it also happen in 59? Some websites may adapt their content or content offered based on the browser version. if the issue started in Beta 60 recently, chances are they adapted it to 60 to work as it should.

Also, a https URL and a Connection is Not Secure message seems odd, though the info could be general as a result of mixed content, as the text below it indicates.

Aren’t you using any security software able to intercept your connection? What does the certificate say? Is there really an issue? :)

This may be an interesting thread at Yahoo to read.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond in detail

That's true, I see the grey padlock and yellow exclamation mark when I access the main Yahoo mail site. So if I understand correctly your answer, there shouldn't be an option to disable protection in this case.

Yes, there are examples of images being blocked. I'm attaching a snapshot.

It started a couple of weeks ago, and might have happened immediately after a firefox version upgrade. I don't know how to downgrade to an older version of firefox

I'm using linux, with firefwall rules that I tweaked (no other security software), but nothing has changed over the past several months. I'm attaching a screenshot of the security certificate. It seems like it's ok.. ?
