Hi
You will not be able to access your stored passwords with entering a screen lock code. This is to protect your data in the event if your mobile device being lost or stolen.

I live in the middle of nowhere - so I'm not worried about somebody taking my phone. I leave it UNLOCKED because in the past I have missed phone calls because of the lock code either not recognized or accidentally entered wrong.
It's my phone and I assume the risk owning it, using it, and leaving it unlocked, therefore I consider it abuse of power for Firefox to prohibit me from downloading MY PASSWORDS that I ENTERED onto MY PHONE.
APPLE does the same type of abuse/overreach so I'm unhappy with both manufacturers but I APPRECIATE your response to my query.
They are MY PASSWORDS so it's none of Firefox business to PROTECT them. If, for example, my phone was stolen then the thief who stole it could set up a pincode to enter to access site so HOW IS FIRWFOX EXTORTION - Forcing whoever is in possession of my phone to make a pincode
Ok so unless I fulfill Firefox DEMAND to have a passcode on my tablet UM SOL. One of the biggest reasons I have no passcode set is because it's just another ring I have to jump thru to see MY PASSWORDS.
If you just need to access them to move to another browser, you could apply the screen lock code temporarily and remove it when you are done.
