I have to constantly move the cursor to keep the browser from hanging for most web sites and especially you tube, i performed all the suggested fixes and nothing works. ie. removed Firefox, deleted all files in Programs, local apps, etc. download the latest version, made no customization and I still have an issue. However, when using task manager to see if CPU or Memory was an issue i noticed that as long as task manager was refreshing, the browser continue without hanging, it's like when a system interrupt occurs the browser keep going as if i was moving the cursor to make it continue. running windows 7 with the latest patches. I have a second PC, win 7, with the same Firefox version, no issues at all.

hello TheViking, multiple other affected users have reported that this was an issue caused by malware on their pc. please run a full scan of your system with the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner (both these security tools are free).

I download and ran malwarebytes and it Did fix the issue, i had used ccleaner prior to malwarebytes and it did NOT correct the problem so i did not consider the issue a virus of some sort. thanks for you recommendation and appreciate you responding so quickly.

great, thanks for reporting back. could you do us one favour and share the scan results with us? maybe this can help fixing the issue for other affected users in the future: go to malwarebytes > history > application logs & view the last scan log. then press the copy to clipboard button, put the contents into a site like http://pastebin.mozilla.org/ and link the results here in the forum. many thanks!
