i have some sort of spam that opens new spam tabs randomly when tapping in the window to scroll or opening new links. i thought it was firefox so i uninstalled and reinstalled. I noticed that this problems occurs with internet explorer also. I tried rolling back the explorerfrom 10 back to 9, then 8, and finally 7. But the issue persists. In the uninstall programs all i have found that is not associated with microsoft, samsung pc, or software required for media is "search protect client connect ltd". I uninstalled this. But just after the uninstall, when accessing furefox i got the pop up tab spam to either upgrade antivirus, upgrade malware, or update media player. I tried system restore, cleared temp files, and cookies.

So my question is where else might i search for install clients that are causing my issue.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
