Recently all of my searches bring up only UK sites!

On the Google website, when you do a search, there is a Settings button next to Tools directly below the search bar. In the settings, there is a Region Settings section. Try changing that to either Current Region or whatever region you are in.
It's possible that setting was changed for whatever reason. Changing it back should fix whatever issue you are having.
