I now have limited back button functionality on both a 3.6 installation and a 4.o installation. I open a site, go 1 to 2 pages into the site and can't get back to the homepage. News sites as an example.

As an example, if I open a newspaper site, click on an article, I can go back and forth within the pages of the article using the back or forward button. however the back button becomes non functional at the first page of the article and I cannot return to the newspaper homepage.

Issues with the Back button not working properly can be caused by the McAfee SiteAdvisor extension.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thanks so much. Back button is backbuttoning!

Right click on the back or forward button. You will see your tab history to go back pages or to a page you previously viewed.
