How can I get that 'save open sites' option back?

Before I upgraded to V4.0.1, I could close firefox & it would save the sites that I had open at the time. But now it still asks if I want to close them, but I don't have the option to save them (so that they will open automatically the next time I open firefox). How can I get that 'save open sites' option back? .I have since tried to fic it by completely uninstalling firefox (including all settings & cookies) & then re-installing it, but I still don't have that feature available.

Thank you dmcritchie. I followed your leads and settled on this link https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Session%20Restore#w_configuring-session-restore as a solution. It is not quite the same as it used to be, but it's pretty damn close for an easy fix. Cheers. Ed
