Some crashes are the result of graphics driver incompatibilities. To work around that, disable Firefox's use of hardware acceleration for graphics.

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"

This will take effect when you exit and restart Firefox.

To exclude some variables, could you disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized add-ons on these two tabs:

  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category
set to "Never Activate" if you can do without it for 24 hours
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
disable if you can do without it for 24 hours

Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Go through Reset the Firefox [http://mzl.la/MnSTZB] Avoid Crashes [http://mzl.la/LMzczb]

May be work.

thank you

All 5 of those crash reports are empty, no usable data was collected.

If the Reset doesn't produce desired results, try an new Profile.

narrowed problem down to two add-ons, Print Edit 10.2 and Ebates.

Will experiment to see which one is the issue. Many thanks for the help.
